Tropicana Gardens Mall, the retail arm of Tropicana Corporation Berhad has entered into a partnership with the ShopeePay e-wallet and Malaysian artiste association Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia.

The partnership will enhance retail and digital payment experiences across its facilities to allow shoppers to go cashless shopping safely and conveniently, just in time for the Ramadhan festive season.

Running from April 11 to May 9, 2022, the collaboration with ShopeePay offers rewards for Tropicana shoppers using its ShopeePay e-wallet for digital payments throughout Tropicana Gardens Mall.

In addition, Karyawan will showcase its support and promote local talents at the mall’s centre court, serenading visitors with easy-listening jazz rhythms until April 30, 2022.

Tropicana group assets management division managing director Andrew Ashvin said they were excited about the partnership to get people together with borders gradually reopening.

“With our focus on redefining the art of shopping, we cater to consumer preferences towards digital payments through cashback and gift redemptions for all ShopeePay transactions at our mall.

“We also provide a platform for Karyawan to bring people together through the medium of music and art as Malaysians reconnect and strive towards a new normal in the endemic phase, in line with evolving retail trends favouring experiential engagement,” he said.

Through Tropicana’s partnership with ShopeePay, existing ShopeePay users will receive RM3 cashback for every RM15 ShopeePay transaction at Tropicana Gardens Mall, while new users will receive RM5.

Shoppers can also redeem Shopee green packets with every RM50 ShopeePay transaction, and an exclusive dining bowl set for every RM100 transaction.

ShopeePay Malaysia head Alain Yee said as the number of e-wallet users in Malaysia is growing, the partnership is timely to deliver safety and convenience to shoppers.

“For the Ramadhan period and upcoming festive celebrations, shoppers can easily transact offline at their favourite brands or stores using ShopeePay on their Shopee app.

“For youths aged 18-20 years old, when they activate and claim their RM150 ePemula credit using ShopeePay, they will receive an additional RM500 vouchers that can be utilised both offline and online across a range of merchants. Many of the merchants include partners within malls like Tropicana Gardens Mall,” he said.

The collaboration with Karyawan sees diverse local talents such as Don Guerzo and Headwind, Rozita Rohaizad, Salimah Mahmood and Zubira taking centre stage at Tropicana Gardens Mall.

The performances run the gamut from Don Guerzo’s skillful stylings on keyboard and piano to Rozita’s soulful vocals, as well as traditional Raya melodies.

Other routines include two-piece bands belting out Top 40 repertoires, as well as caricature drawings by artists.

“Local entertainers have faced challenging times since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through our collaboration with Tropicana, which is in its second year now, we are pleased to have a platform for Malaysian artistes to showcase their talents to an appreciative audience. We welcome and invite further collaborations in this vein, towards a more inclusive society for all,” said Karyawan president Datuk Freddie Fernandez.

The partnership with ShopeePay and Karyawan runs in conjunction with Tropicana Gardens Mall’s Raya theme of ‘Jalinan Kasih di Aidilfitri’ commencing from now till May 8, 2022.

The Raya decoration features tall flowers and trees in a modern set up at the mall’s main concourse, evoking the ambience of a garden by the bay. In addition, 12 Raya booths offer seasonal delicacies, accessories and apparel with brands such as Sugarscarf, NAWY, and Suzy’s Closet.

Shoppers at Tropicana Gardens Mall can also leverage on Tropicana’s ongoing Multi-Million Maniacampaign, with an exclusive high-rise unit at Edelweiss SOFO, Tropicana Gardens as the grand draw prize.

Each spend of RM100 in up to two receipts daily at the mall will entitle shoppers to one token and one stamp on an entry card for the grand draw.

Each token allows participation in the vending machine, with a chance to win shopping vouchers worth RM20, RM50, and RM100 issued by selected Tropicana Gardens Mall stores, while 10 stamps collected on an entry card entitle participants to one entry in the grand draw.
