The Sun - St Josephs school turns one

Held in conjunction with the Founder's Day celebration, the event was graced by the Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, Tropicana Corporation Berhad Founder and Advisor, Tan Sri Danny Tan Chee Sing, and Edmundo Fernandez, Brother Visitor of the Lasallian East Asia District (LEAD), "The Ministry of Education has always emphasised the importance of helpii^ students experience the joy of learning, to instil an intrinsic motivation towards learning in every student. We are moving from exam-oriented education to producing a well-balanced and holistic nation. Learning should not only be for passing examinations but a lifelor^ journey, where one experiences deep personal achievement from learning new knowledge and skill, ' "I am glad that SJIISM emphasises character development as one of its pillars in school excellence. With this, I am confident St Joseph's will provide a conducive environment to produce holistic and well balanced students," Mahdzir said in his speech yesterday.
