Implementation of lifelong learning systems to produce a well-balanced and holistic nation

Nowadays schools are no longer focusing on exam-oriented education but moved to learning of a lifelong journey.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the above-mentioned approach is now adopted in PT3 (Pentaksiran Tingkatan 3 or Form Three Assessment)

“Our country is now moving from exam-oriented education to learning of a lifelong journey to producing a well-balanced and holistic nation.

Avoid stressful students

“The ministry realized the importance of helping students experience the joy and motivation towards learning and not confined to examinations,” he said.

He emphasized it while officiating the St. Joseph’s Institution International School Malaysia (Tropicana PJ Campus) official opening ceremony in Kuala Lumpur.

Tropicana Corporation Berhad Founder and Advisor, Tan Sri Danny Tan Chee Sing attended the event as well.

Out of jurisdiction

Begin to operate since last year August, St. Joseph’s Institution International School Tropicana Campus consist of 500 students.

Regarding the report of case of a teacher arrested for allegedly molesting six students at a religious school in Bandar Baru Bangi, he said, it is out of the jurisdiction of his ministry.

“I leave it to Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor for necessary action as it is within their jurisdiction.

“The Ministry of Education cannot take any action as the administration, management and employment is within their jurisdiction,” he said.
