Oriental Daily - New managing director appointed

Kuala Lumpur, 2 October 2017 – Tropicana Corp. Bhd. (TROP, 5401, main market, property) announced the retirement of its Group Chiref Executive Officer (GCEO) Datuk Yau Kok Seng on 30 November 2017, while Dion Tan, third son of Tropicana’s founder and largest shareholder Tan Sri Datuk Danny Tan, being redesignated as Managing Director (MD) effective today.

In filing with Bursa Malaysia, 27-year old Dion Tan’s eldest brother, Datuk Dickson Tan Yong Long, is Tropicana’s Deputy Group CEO, while another brother, Dillon Tan Yong Chin, is an Executive Director.

Meanwhile, Tropicana also appointed Datuk Lim Thean Shiang as the group’s Independent and Non-Executive Director. Datuk Lim was with Port Klang Authority as General Manager from 2008 to 2009. Currently he sits on board of several companies within the Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV, 5222, main market, plantation) group of companies and is an advisor to FGV’s investment committee.
