TROPICANA BRINGS BACK BUGGY OF JOY DONATION DRIVE

Tropicana Foundation, a charity arm of property developer Tropicana Corporation Berhad (“Tropicana” or “Group”), recently ran its annual donation drive to collect dry goods and cash for underprivileged homes in the Klang Valley. Back for the second year, the “Buggy of Joy” donation drive held in November 2021 got off to a good start thanks to a generous contribution from Tropicana’s employee, Samuel Tan, and his family contributed 10,000 disposable face masks, 600 packs of instant noodles, and 1,000 packs of instant coffee.

Dion Tan, Group Managing Director of Tropicana wants to promote the joy of rallying the community and its employees to give back to the underprivileged community. “If there is a time to show the true meaning of Christmas – the spirit of giving and spreading joy – it’s during these challenging times. In conjunction with the upcoming festive season, we are kick-starting this donation drive earlier in the hope to collect more essential items for the underprivileged community. We urge the public to help us brighten the lives of others during this season of giving.” This Buggy of Joy donation drive marked the end of a productive year for the Foundation.

Earlier in February 2021, the Foundation provided 6,500 hot meals to charity homes. In May 2021, some 7,500 food packs and daily necessities were donated to underprivileged homes. In June 2021, the Foundation contributed RM30,000 to purchase medical beds for Hospital Banting in Kuala Langat and new wheelchairs to the Petaling District Health Office. In July 2021, some 2,000 kg of fresh produce was distributed to charity homes. In August 2021, the Foundation provided protective gear, fresh produce, and sundries to four associations in three states.

In September 2021, the Foundation contributed essential goods, fresh produce, and school bags to orphanages. In October 2021, the Foundation partnered with philanthropist Kuan Chee Hang, better known as Uncle Kentang, to distribute fresh fish to households in the Klang Valley.
