Tropicana Gardens Mall, the retail arm of Tropicana, joined hands with the Royal Thai Embassy and Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (“DITP”) to bring back Malaysia’s largest Thai exhibition, Think Thailand. Running from 19 July 2023 to 30 July 2023, the event will showcase the best of Thai cuisine and culture with Thai SELECT food highlights, cooking demonstrations, a fashion show, live performances and more in four themed zones over 70,000 sq ft.

Think Thailand will also feature the first Thai pet products exhibition outside Thailand, putting the spotlight on pet foods, toys and accessories, as well as pet shows and competitions. Andrew Ashvin, Managing Director of Tropicana Gardens Mall, shared more on the initiative.

“The inaugural Think Thailand was a smashing success, and we’re proud to partner with the Royal Thai Embassy and DITP again this year to bring the festival back to Tropicana Gardens Mall. Offering bona fide Thai experiences and cuisine backed by the Thai SELECT mark, it’s three times bigger and better, with four zones dedicated to Thai Foods, Lifestyle Products, a Pet Fair and Pet Competitions. This emphasis on experiential engagement is in line with contemporary retail trends, as well as Tropicana’s focus on Redefining the Art of Engagement,” he enthused.

Foodies can pamper their palates with a medley of Thai treats and desserts in Zone 4, located at Tropicana Gardens Mall’s CC Floor valet parking area. The food bazaar will include fare from eateries awarded the Thai SELECT mark by the Royal Thai Government’s Ministry of Commerce, a guarantee of authenticity ensuring that visitors can enjoy a taste of Thailand without leaving Malaysia.

New to Think Thailand this year, the Pet Fair will be held at Zone 1 (Centre Court, CC Floor). Organised in collaboration with Perfect Companion Malaysia and Just Pets, the Pet Fair will feature Thai brands such as Pawta, Kafbo, Moochie, SmartHeart, SmartHeart Gold, REFINE, MeO, MeO Delite, Cuties Catz, IQ Dog, Briter Bunny and Rabbit Diet, catering for all your furbaby needs with a diverse range of pet chow, furniture, clothing and more.

Proud pet parents also enjoyed the festival’s Pet Competitions, held at the mall’s expansive Convention Centre on Floor 3A. These included Meowbulous Mas-Thai on 22 July 2023 and the SCA Malaysia International Cat Show on 23 July 2023, which allowed Malaysian and international participants to showcase their furbabies on cat and dog runways.

“This dynamic event showcases the best of Thailand's cultural heritage, culinary delights, and the thriving pet industry. Thailand has catered for pet food and products in Malaysia for more than two decades, and the Malaysian pet retail industry has steadily grown in double digits to a foreseeable size of RM5.8 billion in 2023. Think Thailand will definitely create exciting hype not only for pet owners but also for retailer partners in the market. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to the organisers and all the co-sponsors, in particular, Tropicana Gardens Mall and Perfect Companion Malaysia, for making this event happen again and, of course, in a bigger scale,” said HE Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia.
