PropertyGuru - Tropicana Uplifts Langkawi Community With RM2.5 Million R&R Centre

2022-03-04 PropertyGuru - Tropicana Uplifts Langkawi Community With RM2.5 Million R&R Centre

This R&R centre is a joint collaboration with the Langkawi state government and officiated by YB Dato’ Haji Juhari bin Bulat, State Assemblyman of Air Hangat and Speaker to the Kedah State Assembly, as well as representatives from Majlis Perbandaran Langkawi Bandaraya Pelancongan.

This initiative will see the renovation and upgrade of the centre’s existing facilities to better serve the Langkawi community. The Pantai Kok R&R Centre sits on a 0.49-acre parcel of land donated by Tropicana to the state of Langkawi.

The renovation works, projected for completion on the 3rd Quarter of 2022, include the expansion of the centre’s existing facilities from five to eight commercial lots. The refurbished building will include an enhanced washroom, surau, and carpark amenities, with more than 70 parking bays for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles.

Khoo Thian Shyang, Executive Director (Project) of Tropicana, shared more on its partnership with the Langkawi state government, as well as the goals of the Tropicana Foundation (“Foundation”), the Group’s charity arm.

“Today’s groundbreaking marked another milestone for Tropicana, signifying its commitment to building a sustainable and vibrant township in Langkawi.

The Pantai Kok Rest and Recreation Centre stands at the threshold of Tropicana’s upcoming development in the area, and we are proud to be the partner of Majlis Perbandaran Langkawi Bandaraya Pelancongan as we work hand-in-hand to uplift the community.

This is in line with Tropicana Foundation’s core focus on Redefining the Art of Caring, as well as Tropicana’s recognised role as a community builder,” he said. The Tropicana Foundation spearheads Tropicana’s approach to social dimensions, in line with its emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) principles.

Launched in 2011, the Foundation encompasses outreach programmes to underprivileged segments of society, including the food bank, health, education, and recycling initiatives, as well as employee engagement.

It also addresses environmental issues and social impacts with flood relief efforts, tree planting programmes, and more. Since its inception, Tropicana Foundation has donated more than RM23 million to various charitable causes.

The Pantai Kok R&R Centre complements Tropicana’s upcoming Pantai Kok project, a 44.61-acre integrated mixed development. It is part of the developer’s 127.84-acre landbank in Langkawi, with parcels in Tanjung Rhu, Pulau Rebak Kecil and Bukit Mali.

Its latest homes in Tropicana Cenang comprise modern seaview serviced suites across 5.28 acres on the vibrant, bustling Pantai Cenang beachfront. Those interested can learn more by visiting www.tropicanacenang.com.my or contact +016 363 0900.
