The Star - Tropicana Foundation Donates 2,000kg of Fresh Produce
Tropicana Foundation, a charity arm of Tropicana Corporation Bhd, donated over 2,000kg worth of fresh produce to 10 charity homes and non-governmental organizations in Klang Valley.
Along with its agricultural arm, Purple Pumpie and Greenhouse, the Tropicana team organized and packed various fresh produce — patin fish to free-range chicken, tomatoes, kangkung, spinach, sweet potato leaves, brinjal, and sweet corn.
This amount would feed 1,000 persons for a week.
Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (TGCR) managing director Peter Kuan conveyed his thanks to the Tropicana team and stressed that it was important to reach out to underprivileged communities.
“The current restrictions on public movement and economic activities are challenging for many, especially the underprivileged communities.
“This is a good time for us to reach out and support in whatever way we can. With our small donations, we want to provide nutritious meals to the needy.
“Keeping safe and eating healthily is paramount during this period,” he said.
The fresh produce was packed and boxed at TGCR, which served as the collection centre, with strict observance of standard operating procedure at all times.
