2021-06-21 The Star - RM30,000 aid to boost healthcare capacity

COMMITTED to doing its part in the battle against Covid-19, Tropicana Foundation contributed RM30,000 to boost the capacity of hospitals and vaccination centres.

The money was used to acquire 10 beds for Hospital Banting in Kuala Langat, Selangor and 10 wheelchairs for the Petaling District Health Office to facilitate the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre in Petaling Jaya.

The foundation is the charity arm of Tropicana Corporation Bhd.

Corporation group executive director Jared Ethan Ang said the recent spike in cases prompted many hospitals and vaccination centres to expand their capacities to take in patients.

“Currently, these centres are facing a shortage of medical beds and wheelchairs.

“So, we did our bit to provide some relief and ease the strain on the healthcare system in any way we can,” he added.
