2022-04-20 The Star - Sharing Ramadan Blessings with 100 Less Fortunate Children

TROPICANA Golf & Country Resort treated 100 underprivileged children from three homes to a buka puasa buffet.

The "Santapan 29 Malam Iftar" initiative also saw the donation of dry foodstuff and essentials to the homes.

The children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Al Mahabbah and Pusat Jagaan Haneen Firdous in Klang as well as Pusat Jagaan Kasih Murni in Taman Keramat, Kuala Lumpur were treated to a spread of over 200 dishes.

Speaking at the event, Tropicana senior general manager (TGCR & Project) Allan Wong said the initiative was in line with the humanitarian goals of Tropicana Foundation, the charity arm of Tropicana Group.

"As Malaysia moves forward in this new normal, Ramadan gives us time to reflect and give thanks.

"Keeping in mind the foundation's focus on outreach and engagement with vulnerable groups by 'Redefining the Art of Caring', we invited these children to Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, where Tropicana's journey began so many years ago.

"The children were able to break their fast while experiencing the communal warmth of kampung-style dining at our clubhouse.

"We are also supporting the daily needs of these three homes throughout the fasting month by donating more than 21 types of essential items," Wong added.

Since its inception in 2011, Tropicana Foundation has contributed more than RM23mil towards various charitable causes.
