Food packs for needy in Langkawi TROPICANA Foundation, the charity arm of Tropicana Corporation Bhd, provided relief to the community in Langkawi by donating food packs.
The items were given to Disaster Control Operation Centre Langkawi, Pusat Jagaan Pertubuhan Anjung Kasih and Kampung Ewa Village Development and Security Committee.
The Tropicana team handed over 1,500kg worth of food packs containing items such as rice, cooking oil, canned food, instant noodles, eggs, biscuits, sugar and rice vermicelli.
These supplies are expected to last for a month.
Tropicana managing director Dion Tan conveyed his commitment in the ongoing charity initiatives of Tropicana Foundation and underlined the importance of providing relief to the underprivileged on the islands.
"We have expanded our footprint to Langkawi with the introduction of our latest seafront serviced suites called Tropicana Cenang," he said.
"With many facing challenges in the Langkawi district, we want to do our bit to help alleviate hunger and do good.
"With our donation, we hope to provide some relief to families, including the children and the elderly," he added.
The items were packed at Tropicana Cenang sales gallery, which also served as a collection center where strict standard operating procedure was observed at all times.
