New Straits Times - Tropicana Aims To Have All Employees Vaccinated
KUALA LUMPUR: Tropicana Corp Bhd aims to achieve a 100 percent vaccination rate among its 1,300 employees through Program Vaksin Selangor (SelVax).
In June, the company pledged its support to the government by offering the Tropicana Gardens Mall Convention Centre as one of the five large vaccination centres (PPV).
Tropicana group executive director Jared Ethan Ang said the company is optimistic that the country's wellness and the economic sector will be re-energized with the vaccination programme in place.
"All Tropicana workers who have not been vaccinated will be signed up for this programme.
"With this, we are certain that our Tropicana community will once again be revitalised and safe for all," he said in a statement.
Ang said all its employees have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Before SelVax, a handful of Tropicana employees have participated in the AstraZeneca opt-in programme.
Since the start of the pandemic, Ang said Tropicana has shown strong support to various initiatives to combat the spread of Covid-19 while observing strict standard operating procedures.
"Through our Tropicana Foundation arm, we have donated medical equipment, medical beds, wheelchairs, food and essential items, as well as circulated Tropicana care packs to our employees and the community at large.
"We also responded swiftly by offering our Tropicana Gardens Mall as one of the large PPV for SelVax." he added.
