Lim is also the executive chairman of Top Glove Corp Bhd. In a statement, Tropicana said that prior to joining Tropicana, Lim had snapped up an additional 8.5% stake in Tropicana, making him a substantial shareholder with approximately 10.24% shareholding in the group.

Additionally, Tropicana on Oct 2 announced that Datuk Lim Thean Shiang (TS Lim) had been appointed as an independent and non-executive director of Tropicana. TS Lim is also an executive director and group chief executive officer of Daya Materials Berhad since 2015.

He has over 20 years of experience in property development and construction, which will be an invaluable contribution to the development of the group. "I have always had my eye on property development, and I believe now is the right time and Tropicana is the right company. "Over the years, Tropicana has proven itself by delivering high quality and iconic projects to its customers, with my business experiences and contacts regionally and internationally, I hope to contribute positively to move Tropicana up the value chain," said Lim in a statement.

As of yesterday, Tropicana has a total land bank of over 1,000 acres across Malaysia.
